What’s the Deal with CBD?
If you had told your parents 10 years ago that by 2020 you’d be buying cannabis products online, they might have believed you. But they’d also be the first to point out that you’re risking a run-in with the law, and that’s a shameful way to live (and smear your good name), young man/woman. Here’s where you lean back in your chair ever so slightly, share a wry chuckle, and get back to shopping online for cannabis products … legally.
We’ve come a long way with weed. Once stigmatized (and illegal), where the only way you could purchase back in the day was meeting some kid named Kevin, who drove a Jetta with tinted windows and the obligatory leaf sticker on the bumper in a Wal-Mart parking lot to score. Those days are long gone for most. It makes you wonder if guys like Kevin began selling something else or now owns a grow-shop. In any event, we are now able to enjoy the cannabis plant in all its glory, and thank the Lord we never have to deal with Kevin again.
There are over 100 chemical compounds (cannabinoids) in cannabis. Two of the most popular are CBD (cannabidiol) and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). The latter is the principal psychoactive element, the one that gets you to convince your friends that a fight-club where lizards face off against spiders could be a profitable venture. It also causes needless money to be spent at mini-markets throughout this great nation. CBD is similar to THC but is not psychoactive. It’s an excellent option for those who don’t want to ponder amphibians and arachnids tearing each other to shreds, nor purchasing obscene amounts of Snickers and Mountain Dew.
Most adherents of CBD rave about its role as a pain reliever. Our bodies produce what are known as endocannabinoids. These are neurotransmitters and attach themselves to incoming cannabinoid receptors, all within the nervous system. CBD has been proven to reduce chronic pain by impacting this receptor activity and reducing inflammation. Second, CBD has also been shown to have very positive effects on folks suffering from anxiety and depression. An interesting study from 2016 demonstrated CBD oil successfully treating anxiety and insomnia in children suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
One of the more popular ways of consuming CBD is via edibles. If you’re a gummy-fan (who isn’t), then you’ll go loco over these CBD Experience Edibles. Each piece contains 30mg of CBD isolate, and is 100% THC free. No THC-laden awkward talks with your neighbor to worry about or proclamations to your social media that we consider whether water is over-rated. Nope, just less anxiety, a more relaxed state of mind, and they’re gummies!
Another interesting way to get CBD into your system is via a massage cream. The CBD Daily Intensive Cream is 100% vegan, contains 0% THC and 60mg of CBD. This cream is client tested and client approved, bringing instant and long-term relief to most areas of discomfort or soreness on your body. Simply massage a small amount 3 to 5 times daily and feel the relief.
It’s hard to argue against anyone not consuming at least some CBD. Actually, there is one reason. If you have a job that drug tests you, it could show up, and that could spell trouble. But otherwise, relying on psychiatric drugs or suffering through pain is ill-advised. Get some CBD in you, Kevin would certainly approve.
