The Importance of After Care

Two words. After. Care.

After care, for after sex!

Now there’s a few different kinds of people in this world. People who pick up the same towel they use to shower with and wipe off their partners genitals after sex. There’s people who have “THEE” towel… aka, cum rags. And then… there’s people who grab their wipes for after sex.

We love person number three. However, we don’t judge person one or two! In reality, grabbing a towel is super convenient and gets the job done, but let’s talk about getting more up to speed with some after care.

WHERE TO START

Let’s start with preventing UTI’s and other bacterias growing inside our vaginas. I am sure we are all familiar with peeing after sex. The truth is, it’s super common to catch a UTI just from not letting that pee out after sex.

When you don’t pee after sex, you don’t allow your body to flush out any remaining juices that are still left in the canal. You see where the correlation comes in? Or should I say, “go piss girl” because apparently that’s the only correct way to go about saying it now, LOL.

WIPES, SOAP, WHAT?

This all truly depends on your body and what you are comfortable with, and not irritated to. If you are someone like me, who is the queen of sensitive skin, then I feel you for sure on this one. The best part is, someone even like me, is still able to use the after sex wipes even with super sensitive skin.

These wipes are made specifically for our downstairs areas, which gives me hope that they would not irritate me. Well, it’s been over a year of using wipes and I’ve had no complaints.

Dame wipes are one of my top go to’s, they use a blend of aloe, cucumber, with a water base to leave your skin feeling moisturized and nourished.

When you finish your sexy time, grabbing your wipes really feels a lot more refreshing than that rough towel against your skin. It’s honestly another turn on to watch your partner take care of you the correct way after you’ve done the deed. We love a hygiene king.

PRO TIP: Using after care wipes also benefits the vaginal pH balance, bringing it back to where it needs to be :)

BODY WASH

If you aren’t into the wipes, we can take another step further and look at some intimate body washes. Vush and Good Clean Love offers a foaming wash that is hypoallergenic, totally vegan and naturally made. This is a great addition to add into your daily routine, not just for after sex.

I also am addressing the elephant in the room, it makes your hoo-ha smell nice! Not like flowers though, (we don’t support scented soaps for down there!) A friendly reminder that vaginas have a natural scent, and truth be told, a lot of people would prefer to indulge in your natural scent, now that’s hot.

Moral of my story, take proper care of yourself after sex! These wipes have been on my bedside for the past year and I’m super happy to make the change I did. Not only is it refreshing, but it feels even more amazing feeling cleaner than ever after a night of being dirty ;)
